The farmers of Oudtshoorn were the pioneers of the ostrich industry, which commenced in the Oudtshoorn district during the middle of the 19thCentury and therefore Oudtshoorn became known as the Ostrich Capital of the World.

Visit to the Cango Caves  – The Cango Caves are located in Precambrian limestones at the foothills of the Swartberg range near the town of Oudtshoorn, in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. The principal cave is one of the country’s finest, best known, and most popular tourist caves, and attracts many visitors from overseas. Although the extensive system of tunnels and chambers go on for over four kilometres, only about a quarter of this is open to visitors, who may proceed into the cave only in groups supervised by a guide.
and visit the Wildlife Ranch  – the farm was established as South Africa’s first crocodile show farm.Today, while the ranch continues to house a large crocodile population, it has turned its attention to the plight of endangered species and in line with this, they expanded and include a number of big cats.
followed by a visit to an Ostrich Farm – large flocks of Ostriches are kept in groups of 50 to 150 per camp
